How to block Kalshi and take a break from prediction markets

If checking markets or placing event trades has become hard to stop, you can choose to step away. Start with Kalshi's own restriction tools, then cover the app and website you use to return.

Use Kalshi's official opt-out tools

Kalshi's Responsible Trading Hub describes voluntary opt-outs and funding caps. Its guidance directs users to Responsible Risk Management in the account menu or settings. Read the current terms and choose the restriction that fits the break you want.

Check what an exclusion means for existing positions and access before confirming. Kalshi's Trading Break guidance also notes that the restriction does not prevent access through a third-party Futures Commission Merchant. Ask official support if your account setup is unclear.

Block the route back on your iPhone

In WealthLock, choose the Kalshi app if it is installed and add the Kalshi website you use. Activate protection after reviewing the subscription terms. Test both the app and the browser route on your phone.

This creates a barrier for the items you selected. It does not submit an opt-out request, close positions, or make changes inside your Kalshi account. Add other devices and services to your plan separately.

Stop the stream of invitations

Switch off market notifications, remove shortcuts, and unsubscribe from market promotions you no longer want. Tell people who send you trades or screenshots that you are stepping away. If a sports result or news alert usually turns into a market check, decide in advance how you will read or watch without opening a trading app.

Avoid moving the same habit somewhere else

Make a list of the services you switch between. Include sportsbooks and other prediction markets rather than leaving an easy substitute available. If Polymarket is on that list, follow the Polymarket guide too. Ask your bank what any payment restriction covers; do not assume it includes every prediction-market transaction.

Keep the next decision small

When an urge shows up, put off opening the market and do something already chosen: a short walk, a call, or a free Pause exercise. You can log resisted impulses and their optional amounts in WealthLock, then track time from a gambling-free start date you choose.

If trading is affecting your sleep, finances, or relationships, consider talking to a qualified professional or gambling-support service. Our first-day quitting guide offers a starting plan.
