How to block Polymarket and stop compulsive market checking

You can take a break from Polymarket without waiting for the next event to settle or for another loss to prove that the habit is a problem. Start by checking your account's available restrictions and putting a barrier around the routes you use.

Check which Polymarket service you use

Polymarket US and the international service have different account arrangements. Use the current support information for your own account. Do not assume a restriction on one service also restricts every related account or product.

Review the official self-exclusion option

The Polymarket US Trust & Safety Hub describes self-exclusion under Account → Responsible Trading → Self-exclusion. It explains the available terms and what happens to deposits, new positions, existing positions, and withdrawals.

Read those terms before confirming, and ask official support about anything unclear. The linked instructions describe Polymarket US. If you use the international service, check its own current controls rather than assuming that the same menus or terms apply.

Block the app and web addresses on your phone

In WealthLock, choose the Polymarket app if installed and add the website version you use, such as polymarket.com or polymarket.us as appropriate. Review the subscription terms and activate selected protection. Test the app and browser route on your iPhone.

The device barrier applies to the items you selected. It does not make an account-level exclusion request or control your positions, wallet, or withdrawals. Include other devices and accounts in your wider plan.

Make news feel like news again

If an election update, sports game, or market headline has become an invitation to trade, choose a different way to follow it. Remove market widgets and bookmarks, turn off trade notifications, and mute feeds that repeatedly pull you back toward positions.

Tell a trusted person that you are taking a break. You can ask them to leave odds, trade screenshots, and referral links out of conversations with you.

Plan for the urge to switch platforms

Cover the other places you turn to, including Kalshi and sportsbook apps. When an urge arrives, try an action you chose earlier: put the phone down, call someone, or use a Pause exercise. Record the impulses you resist if seeing those decisions helps.
