How to block betting apps on iPhone and stop going back

If you keep reopening a betting app after deciding to stop, put a barrier in place while you feel ready. Cover both the app and the website, then make a plan for what you will do when the urge returns.

Start with the places you already bet

Write down the sportsbooks, casino apps, and websites you return to. Include the browser versions, even if you usually use an app. DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and bet365 are examples; your own list matters more than a long list of brands you never use.

If prediction markets have become part of the same habit, include them too. There are separate guides for blocking Kalshi and blocking Polymarket.

Set up a blocker for your chosen apps and sites

  1. Open WealthLock on your iPhone and follow the short protection setup.
  2. Choose the betting apps and websites you want blocked. Include the web addresses you use as an alternative to the apps.
  3. Review the subscription terms if you want to activate blocking, then turn protection on.
  4. Try opening each selected app and website to check the barrier on your own phone.

A subscription activates WealthLock's selected-app and website blocking. You can explore the app and use its Pause exercises without subscribing. Protection depends on your choices and device permissions; check the routes you use instead of assuming every gambling service is covered.

Remove the reminders that send you back

Unsubscribe from betting promotions, turn off betting notifications, and remove betting bookmarks. Consider muting accounts or group chats that keep putting odds in front of you. Ask friends to leave you out of betting slips and referral links while you take a break.

Use account restrictions alongside your phone barrier

Check the operator's official self-exclusion options and any relevant scheme where you live. A blocker on one iPhone cannot close an account or cover another device. Ask the operator what its restrictions include, and keep a note of the confirmation.

Know what you will do at the blocked screen

Prepare one next action: leave the phone on a table, message someone, or open a Pause activity. When you resist an impulse, you can log it in WealthLock. Add an amount if you want that decision included in your money-saved total, and use Progress to keep your own gambling-free streak.

For a plan beyond your phone, start with how to stop gambling today. If you keep finding new ways to bet, bring that pattern to a trusted person or a gambling-support professional.
